The Alpha Phi Alpha national convention converges on Charlotte this weekend so be prepared to see lots of Black men wearing black and gold uptown this weekend. There are several community service events affiliated with the convention, but you know what I care about - the parties!!!

New: Day Party - The Vault celebrates the Alpha Convention with a day party. 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, The Vault, 210 E. Trade St. $10. Details.
