Two film festivals, a beer festival finale and more today

Say goodbye to Charlotte Craft Beer Week, but don't fret next month is NC Craft Beer Month so there will be even more beer flowing. See you in the streets...

Eat Your Dessert - Indulge your sugar cravings at Sweet Tooth Festival 2016. If you’ve already bought tickets then you’re one of the lucky ones. If you don’t have tickets to this sold out, call your friends, check Next Door. Somebody, somewhere can hook you up! 2 p.m. Omni Hotel, 132 E Trade St.



New Black Movie Event - The Classic Black Cinema Series launches Black Cinema Forward today. It’s a new quarterly film series highlighting current black filmmakers. There will be a reception, live music and a screening of three films by filmmaker Nijla Mu’min. 4 p.m. C3 Lab, 2525 Distribution St. $20. Details.



Craft Week Finale Charlotte Craft Beer Week ends with a collaboration with Elevate Lifestyle to present the South End Spring Fling. Benefits Project Halo. Ticket includes: admission, two craft beers, raffle ticket, entertainment, and live music. There will be food trucks and at least five Charlotte and N.C. craft breweries. Local vendors will be selling their wares. There will be a viewing area for College Basketball games, along with Beer Olympics and more.  1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Bulldog Beer & Wine, 1434 Winnifred Street On Street parking available and go to the Carson Street Station if you are using the Light Rail. Details.




Film Festival -The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival celebrates features stories of journeys, adventures and expeditions told by authors, photographers, adventurers and filmmakers from around the globe.  The takes films to fans to more than 40 countries.  7 p.m., McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square, 345 N College St. $15. Details.




Celebrating Women Craft Chicks highlights talented women of Charlotte from brewing to baking to building and so much more. Proceeds benefit Safe Alliance. $10. Includes a beer from Unknown’s collaboration with Alexa from Legion Brewing. 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., The Unknown Brewing Co., South Mint Street, 1327 S Mint St. Details.
