British Christmas, EDM dance party and prom

It's Friddaayyyy! What a mix of fun tonight. See you in the streets...

Short Films - This month's edition of New Frequencies features short films by filmmaker Jem Cohen, director of the art-house hit "Museum Hours" and the Fugazi documentary "Instrument." The films span his career, combining narrative and documentary. 8 p.m. McColl Center for Art + Innovation, 721 N. Tryon St. $5, $7. Tickets.





Annual Tradition
-  Mince pies, sausage rolls, cornish pasties, cold beer and mulled wine will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit at the British Christmas party. There will be English beer specials, raffle prizes and karaoke. 7:30  p.m., Jackalope Jack's Restaurant & Bar, 1936 E 7th St.

EDM Party - Check out the DJs from throughout the eastern part of the state at SOFAL EDM Shindig. The EDM styles range from dubstep to trap to drum & bass. 9 p.m. The Dirty Hippie, 5028 South Boulevard (tan building next to Pep Boys, behind Larry's Salon Suites) $8. Details.



Adult Prom - Wear  your fancy winter formal wear to the Weirdo Winter Formal (WWF). Featuring Good Bones, Alright, Sext Message, Del Rio, Yarbs and Mon Frere. 6:30 p.m. Tremont Music Hall, 400 W. Tremont Ave. $7. Details.
