From Ghostbusters to Hip-hop: Tonight's Halloween Parties


A few pre-Halloween events to get you ready for the big party tomorrow. This is also your last weekend to get spooked at a Haunted House. Not sure where to go tomorrow? Here's my list of Saturday parties. I can't wait!

Weekend Preview: Happy hour, Front Porch Sunday, food web series

What's up party people! This weekend is going to be crazy. Today's list is non-Halloween party. My Halloween party post goes live tomorrow. Put the finishing touches on your costume. It's going to be a crazy weekend. 

Wednesday
Breast Cancer Fundraiser - Enjoy wine specials and homemade baked goods at the Drink Pink Party. It benefits Little Pink Houses of Hope, which provides free weeklong beach trips for breast cancer patients and their families.6:30-8:30 p.m. The Cork and Cask, 9624 F Bailey Road, Cornelius.



Happy Hour - Sportsone & The Grays present Charlotte’s Favorite Happy Hour. There will be live music, food and drink specials. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Carolina Breast Friends. 5 - 9 p.m. Sports One, 321 N. College St. Free.



Thursday 

Happy Anniversary - NoDa Brewery celebrates it's 4-year anniversary with events today through Sunday. There will be beer releases, including faves such as Hot Pistol and Captain Peanut Butter’s Chocolate Revenge. There will also be live music and food trucks! Tonight: include a NoDable from every NoDa Brewer released every half hour. Food from Tiger Yakatori. First 100 people through the door are entered into a raffle for a variety of prizes.

Last One - It’s the last Front Porch Sunday Market of the year. Enjoy Charlotte food trucks, fashion trucks, artisans and entrepreneurs. Food & Lifestyle - Order/Fire is a culinary web series exploring local chefs personalities and passion. There will be a premiere party for the airing of the first episode. Tupelo Honey Bloody Mary (Video), Sunday Events

The weekend wind down. It's a slow weekend for events, but there's a couple of things going down today. Before you hit the parties, head to Tupelo Honey for their Signature Bloody Mary featuring Dixie's Black Peppered Vodka. Sip + Play Charlotte will be spotlighting restaurant's yummalicious Bloody Marys (my favorite Sunday drink) for the next two weeks.

Family Fun - Forget Chopped, this event is Carved. Charlotte chefs will participate in a pumpkin carving competition. Mixologists, food artisans, food educators, and other culinary professionals will also cut up! Attendees get to vote on the best pumpkin carver. Other activities include Scott Link magic and balloons, Sarah Pollock doing caricature, Popcorn on the cob demonstration, an Apple cider press and an ice cream machine churning frozen delights. 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Free Range Brewing, $20. Boat Party - SPENT Entertainment & Sweet Caroline present Pier Pressure NC, an EDM yacht party. Grave Diggers Ball winners and going doggie style tonight

I was so excited about Catch On's Low Country Boil today, that I made one Tonya style earlier this week. But today is the real thing! After you finish stuffing your faces there get ready for the biggest costume party of the Halloween season.

Doggie Style - Bring the pooch out for a party just for them. Barktoberfest 2015 features a 1-mile Dogwalk, followed by a fall festival. Felabration - It’s time for Su Casa: We Love Fela 2015!, the annual tribute to the life and music of Fela Kuti. Art & Fitness - This is an odd pairing, but I’m all about fitness. The Gantt center is hosting its Inaugural Art of Living Fit + Well celebration. It’s a full day featuring healthy eating cooking demonstrations, interactive dance classes, fitness and wellness expert advice, Zumba, yoga and more. There will also be guest appearances. Costume Cruise - Pre-Halloween festivities continue with the Inaugural Costume Cruise. Farmer’s Market On Fleek - The #SustainableSaturday - Local Produce & Artist Market is more than farmer's market. It will feature produce from Windcrest Farms, Bush-n-Vine & more. OktoberFest Symphony Style - The Charlotte Symphony presents KnightSounds Bachtoberfest III: Bach & Beer for symphony novices each Friday night. This month’s Oktoberfest theme features beer tastings, a roaming accordionists, and a live “oompa” band in the lobby after the show. The symphony will perform works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his son, W. F. Bach, plus Mozart’s Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, and selections from Brahms and Wagner. Local breweries, including NoDa Brewing Company and Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, will provide beer samplings, and the FestzeltMusik Oktoberfest Band will keep the party going after the concert.
