Road Trip: Moonshine in Wilkes Co., World Beer Festival in Raleigh

Road Trip! I love partying in Charlotte, but I also love getting out of town. Here's a look at a couple easy road trips whether you want to make a day of it or get in a quickie. Let's get this party started!







New Moonshine Distillery - Head to Wilkes County for the grand opening of Copper Barrel Distillery by Charlotte Bourbon Club's very own George Smith. Grand opening will be catering by Wilson's Hawg ’n’ Dawgs from Statesville & Butt Bros BBQ from Advance. Live entertainment by "the super 80’s bluegrass hits machine" Love Canon​ starts at 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Copper Barrel Distillery, 508 Main Street, North Wilkesboro.





The Beer Festival of Beer Festivals - Four beer festivals in one ticket. Wow. The 10th Annual World Beer Festival is one of the largest beer festivals in the state. This year’s event features the new Beer Made by Walking Festival and Belgian Bier Festival along with the NC Beer Festival and 4 oz Pour. Two sessions, 12-4 and 6-10 p.m., Deets. Saturday, Moore Square Park, 200 S Blount St., Downtown Raleigh, $50.

S.C. Block Party - Revelry Brewing and Big Work Fitness Factory host the Our Neck of the Woods Block Party with live music, kids activities, food trucks, beer, and more. 12- 6 p.m. Saturday. Deets. Cool Blow Park, 10 Conroy St., Charleston. $10.

















Beer & Lowcountry Boil - The 3rd annual Craftsmen and Craft Brews + Lowcountry Boil. Enjoy Holy City and Tradesmen Brews and live music. Hang out with some world-famous and local artisans. Deets. 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. Old City Jail, 21 Magazine Street, Charleston. $25.
