Non-CIAA events this weekend

If partying with the masses isn't your style then stay away from uptown. There are a slew of parties this weekend. Click here for my best picks. If you're looking to escape the CIAA crowds, try these events.



Wednesday



Helping Children In Crisis - James Ford, the NC Teacher of the Year, will be the guest speaker at A Night for Children’s Rights. It’s the annual fundraiser for the Council for Children’s Rights. 6 p.m. McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square, 345 North College St.










Thursday 



Pick Your Favorite Enjoy some new bites at Little Spoon's test kitchen. They're trying out Pan-Asian small bites tonight. 5 p.m. Little Spoon, 2820 Selwyn Ave Suite 180.

Friday


Escape The CIAA – Enjoy two nights full of Bands, DJ's, a flip cup tournament, cornhole tournament and more at TyberPalooza. There's a beer tasting on Saturday. It’s being billed as “THE BEST place to be CIAA weekend with the locals.” 7 p.m. Tyber Creek Pub, 1933 South Blvd.  Registration for tournaments.















Saturday


Caffeinated Culture – Experience the local coffee scene on The Charlotte Coffee Crawl - A Caffeinated Celebration of Coffee Culture, 9 a.m. Boquete Mountain Coffee, 2113 N Davidson St.





















A Gentleman's Club - Fine clothes, booze and food at Elevate Lounge. Enjoy fine scotches, whiskey, bourbon, tequila and craft beers at Elevate Lounge.
