Show your Panther pride and help the Bechtler celebrate

Usually the weekend after New Year's Eve is slooowwww, but not this weekend. Thanks to the Carolina Panthers playoff spot and the Hornets taking on the LeBron-less Cleveland Cavaliers, the party continues. Let's get this party started. See you in the streets...

Go Panthers!! –  Get ready for tomorrow’s Panther playoff game at the Miller Lite Panthers Pep Rally at the EpiCentre. Fans can enjoy performances by the TopCats and Purrcussion Drum Line as they take center stage for a special appearance. Everyone who registers for the pep rally will receive a Panthers 2014 division championship T-shirt, no line/no cover at all participating bars and restaurants and be automatically entered to win tickets to Saturday’s playoff game. $7. You must be 21 and older to purchase a ticket. The EpiCentre is open to the public; ticket purchase is not required to attend the pep rally.

Art & Jazz - Help the Bechtler Museum celebrate its fifth birthday at Celebrating Five Years: A Jazz at the Bechtler Birthday Bash. The Ziad Jazz Quartet will perform including Maria Howell (singer and actress) and Toni Tuppence on vocals. 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. (No Intermission) Knight Theater, 430 South Tryon St. $22 and up.

Celebrity DJDJ Mick, formerly Mick Boogie, is the NBA Live 15 and he’s been entertaining fans in Cleveland forever. Hip-hop fans rejoice! Check Mick out below and excuse the homemade video, but this set is hot. Don’t miss the chance to see this famous DJ after the Hornets play the Cavaliers. 10 p.m. Suite, 210 E. Trade St., EpiCentre.  Tickets here.

I

EDM Party - This sounds cool. Fast rhythms, lots of synth and drums will take center stage when DJ Skillz presents EDM Meets Bollywood. 10 p.m. Label, 900 NC Music Factory.
