Bob Peters leaving Pisces and this weekend's events

The Ritz is getting a little cooler. In case you missed the news, mixologist Bob Peters announced on Facebook page that he's leaving Pisces for a gig at the Ritz's new concept The Punch Room. Observer's Helen Schwab reported The Punch Room will open next month in the former home of Urban Sip. 



Big congrats to Bob. Can't wait to experience the new Punch Room now that Bob's going to be there. Here's a look at things to do this weekend. Now let's get this party started. See you in the streets... 

Wednesday

Black Violinists - Wil Baptiste and Kevin “Kev” Marcus blend classical, hip-hop, rock, R&B and bluegrass as the duo Black Violin. The duo and band put on a live show that has been featured at SXSW and Bonnaroo. 7:30 p.m.  McGlohon Theatre, Spirit Square, 345 North College St. $20.






Small Balls - Whether you are a ping-pong master or a rookie, you will be welcome in the Doubles Ping Pong Tourney. The event has competitive and recreational divisions. Party For Cause - Hear from cancer survivors, volunteers, caregivers, and others about the importance of Relay For Life. Relay, which benefits the American Cancer Society, celebrates 30 years. 6-9 p.m. Bubble, 210 E. Trade St. $5 suggested donation.

House Music Vocalist - Julie McKnight’s ex-husband is famous, but McKnight made a name in house music. The international recording artist makes a guest appearance at this edition of Release! Sunday

From Helen - Soup on Sunday benefits the 15th for Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region. 11 a.m.-2 p.m., CPCC Culinary Arts Center, 425 N.
