Weekend Preview: A new club, a 70s disco party, and a coffee crawl

Holiday parties aren't the only events happening this weekend. But if you're looking for Toys For Tots and other events, here's my list. Now, let's get this party started! A preview of non-holiday parties and things to do  this weekend.

Tonight

Grand Opening - It's been a few months in the making, but Taste Cafe and Lounge, 2415 W. Morehead St, is finally open. It has a grand opening party tonight. 6-10 p.m.

Friday

Breakout The Bellbottoms -   Enjoy Release! 70’s Disco Party by the crew who brought us the fabulous Release! Classic House Party at Petra's Piano Bar last month. This time, they're dressing up in their best Afro, bellbottoms and platform shoes and grooving to the the best of classic, soulful house and disco! 7 p.m. Petra's Piano Bar, 1919 Commonwealth Ave.

Saturday

Wake Up!!! - Get out early with the two-day CLT Coffee Crawl presented by Good Eats and Meets and local coffee roasters. Saturday and Sunday. Each stop will offer coffee samples, demonstrations and tours throughout both days. $10. 9 - 5 p.m. each day. Starts at Boquette Coffee Mountain Roasters, 2113 N. Davidson St. Details.

Soul Music - She's back. Goapele is like the Doug E. Fresh of soul music. She visits Charlotte often, and gives a good show. The Sol Kitchen presents A Night Of Soul with Goapele. Russell Taylor will open. 8 p.m., The Chop Shop NoDa, 399 E. 35th St. $25 and up.

Sunday

Camless Panthers - The Panthers take on Tampa Bay, likely without star quarterback Cam Newton, who was injured in a car accident Tuesday. If you're not going to the game, watch it at Draught, 601 S. Cedar St. Take the light rail and walk from the Westin. Parking near Draught will be impossible.
